As well as working at events taking and selling photo's of the guests in the studio area we also get to watch the artists performing.
Here are some shots from the last two, a Queen tribute and a Michael Jackson tribute.

John de Jong concert
I recently attended the most intimate concert I've ever been to. John de Jong at the home of a mutual friend. Approx. 35 people in the lounge watching a very talented singer/songwriter perfroming (mostly) his own work. To say he can play guitar is an understatement and his voice is so soothing.
A few pictures follow showing just how cosy the venue was, and some of the expressions John pulls as he plays. Check out www.johndejong.info for more about the man.

A day out in Manchester
As well as lunch in the Norther Quarter Craft Centre (see earlier post), I spent the day wandering around taking pictures of anything/anybody interesting (subjective, I know).
This (for me) included the interior of the gents toilets at the Lowry, a rather nice Triumph motorcycle which was colour co-ordinated to the Lowry, buskers in the city centre, and Gok Wan doing a catwalk show in the Manchester Arndale.

The coolest place to eat lunch
In my humble opinion, the coolest place in Manchester to do lunch is the Northern Quarter Craft Centre.
Lunch today was ham and cabbage soup followed by a peppered mackerel with lemon mayo and cucumber sandwich. All washed down with one of the best cappucino's around. Absolutely delicious.
For those who don't know, the craft centre is the old fish & poultry market, now occupied by artists and designer/makers selling their work to the public. It's well worth a visit.

Charity event for Oldham Cancer Support Centre
Just had the pleasure of supporting a very valuable resource in Oldham, taking photo's to help raise funds for the charity. The ladies were waited on by the lads below, "Butlers in the Buff". They were, as you can imagine, very popular lads.
Event photography is a great way to meet interesting people, and rhelp a good cause.

Halloween party event photography
We had a load of fun at the Halloween party at The Riverside, Whitworth, yesterday. Some people had made a lot of effort, not just for their kids, really entering into to theme of the event.
We got some great shots, particularly of family groups of kids (can't share them all for obvious reasons, but this family were happy to let you see their pictures).
Taking the prints home on the day was a great add on to an already well-organised event.

Wedding Ian & Stacey
One of my favourite weddings from earlier this year. Just some more of the lovely people I have the pleasure of working with.
The wedding was at St Mary's, Balderstone, the church were Pam & I were married, 24 years ago, which brought back some memories. Reception was at the Bella Vista, Rochdale.
They were a young couple, very much in love, and the whole atmosphere of the day was so warm, friendly, and inviting.
I know some of the family members quite well now, this being the third wedding in the family that I have photographed (this is now the second family where I have covered three weddings).
The brides brother even insisted on taking my photo, while taking his photo. These always amuse me.

Divine Deli food product shots
Here a some of the shots I did recently for Divine Deli, for their brochures and other publicity. Some of the stuff looked so good it was a shame to have to send it back (Andy did let us keep a sample after dropping some hints).
Check out www.divinedeli.com for more of what they do.
Please have a look at my main website for more examples of my commercial photography.
