Lifestyle portraits in Manchester

Last week I had the privilege of shooting a set of pictures for a really nice guy to send back to his family in Africa, to show them where he is living, how well he is looking and what he gets up to in his spare time.

We ended up at Plattfields Park, Manchester City's training ground, Manchester Town Hall, Manchester Wheel, Urbis, Market Street and the Manchester Hilton Hotel.

Armed with a few outfits, and more beanies than your local sports shop, out we went to capture some images.

Here is a selection of my favourite shots from the day.

One of my favourite wedding photos

I have just been reminded of one of my favourite wedding photos.

It was one of those moments when we had done the group shots and whittled it down to the bride and groom only. This is one of the best parts of the day for me, as it is probably the first chance the bride and groom will have had to relax since the ceremony, and it all seems to go very quiet and peaceful for a while.

We reached a spot on the lawn and I asked the couple to just be themselves and forget I was there while I took some pictures.

They really did seem to forget I was there, and this was one of those special moments when there was a little bit of unspoken communication between them, and a silent oneness in which I was not included, but only a privileged spectator, able to capture the moment.

I love the emotion of a wedding day, and this is one part of the day when it often shows, as they are practically alone for the first time (I wish I was invisible sometimes, not just trying to be). This sums up how I mostly like to work, as un-obtrusively as possible, documenting the day in true storybook fashion.

Cappuccino blog - my other passion exposed

When I'm not indulging my first passion of photography, I can, more often than not, be found enjoying a cappuccino moment somewhere, in fact just about anywhere.

I am a coffee drinker, and particularly the brand named after the colour of a monk's garment.

If I have my camera with me, I tend to take a picture and feature it on my other blog. Please drop by and have a look.

Apologies for the diversion, couldnn't resist...
