Stag do photos at Rookin House, Cumbria

As well as being invited to Smiv's stag weekend at Rookin House, Troutbeck, Cumbria, I decided to take the opportunity to document the weekend in photographs.
The venue is pretty amazing, in a beautiful location, and is geared up very much to accommodating hen and stag parties, as well as mixed group activity breaks.
Our weekend was expertly organised by one particular member of the group, and worked out very reasonably per person, with food and a takeaway included.
Our choice of activities was go-karting, clay pigeon shooting and paint balling. I was able to take photos of the first two, but was too involved in the paint balling to get any pics.
The weekend was nicely rounded off with the option of mountain biking or a walk in Whinlatter Forest, meeting up for a meal in the Coledale Inn as a finale. The location and food were amazing.
Here is a selection of the photos I took. For a larger selection please have a look at my Facebook business page, CLICK HERE.

Beautiful Cumbria countryside. Peace about to be shattered.
  Starry, starry night...
Three PS3's lead to lots of gaming.

The bride-to-be's father meets the groom-to-be's work mates. #onpins.
 Phewwwwww:
 That's some serious breakfasting...
That was some serious consumption (in addition to the cask of ale, see below).
There's something not quite right about this sausage..... first prank of the weekend.
A subtle lacing of naga chilli (over 1 million on the Scoville scale) just starts to register.

Alan, a legend in his own lifetime. Top guy, who helped make it a right laugh.

 That's not the chapstick!

Lots of fun was had by all:

Indoor karting on a surface of horse manure. Don't get too close behind, or just stay in front.

 Stag, shooting...

 Suitable supplies:
 Who needs a glass?
Stag's father, brought a box of Cuban cigars.
Three PS3's made for some serious late night/early morning gaming.
 Sunrise on the Sunday:
 Home for the weekend:
Off to Whinlatter forest for some serious (?) biking.
 Stag biker:
The view from the top. Worth the walk.
 The walkers (me in blue).

Second Photographer at The Fisherman's Retreat - Wedding

I had the pleasure of working with a fellow wedding photographer from Littleborough recently, as second photographer on a wedding at The Fisherman's Retreat at Ramsbottom.
It is always a little bit more relaxed as second camera, and rather nice for a change, as there feels to be less pressure, allowing you to enjoy what you enjoy doing a bit more than usual.
First time at the lovely wedding venue left me very impressed indeed, with the service they provided, the location, the food, and the whole setting for a very picturesque wedding. The main room with the full glass wall provides a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast.
Here are a selection of the pictures I managed to contribute to the overall set, showing off some of the reason for it being such a perfect wedding venue.

Please call me to see if there are any special offers available for wedding photography at the Fisherman's Retreat.

E-Type Jaguar - A spectacularly beautiful car

A little project I am involved in at the moment revolves around a Jaguar E-Type. For various reasons I am unable to share the full details at this moment in time, and look forward to when more can be revealed.
In the meantime, here is a shot I took on a day of filming in a location near to where I live. The weather conditions were rather cold and windy, but did lend themselves to the moodiness of the picture.
Tags: an atmospheric photograph of a classic car in and around Rochdale, Lancashire. As a young boy I dreamed of owning a Jaguar E-type, and managed to fulfil a dream of at least having a ride in one. Photographing cars is something I like to do, and this is one of my favourite photos to date.

Santa photos at the Crimble Christmas Party

The success of this event, the first time they have run it, is a sure sign that it will almost certainly become an annual occurrence.
The best Santa I have seen, in a very pleasant and top-quality venue, made for a fun day that was very well received, and will probably be returned to by most of the guests, plus as many as they can recommend it to.
My part, was to provide professional-quality photos of the children with Santa.
Here are a selection of the pictures we produced, used with permission.

Stormtroopers in Rochdale?

As part of a pre-promotion for the forthcoming Dale+Con event in the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre, Rochdale, we were treated to a visit from the dark side.
I managed to get them to pose for a couple of photos before they left.
Be assured, they will be back, in February 2014. Keep up to date with the Facebook page for the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre.
